“the bag is heavy duty it served its purpose” The bag is heavy duty and it served its purpose. Only one trip made with it so far and I was quite happy with the capacity and sturdiness of the item. but after returning home and inspecting the bag before putting it in its storage bag I noticed the thin vinyl on the outside of the bag had started to crack (very disappointing to see) but I didn’t spend hundreds of dollars on it, so as they say “you get what you pay for”. I am going to continue using it; I really do not think a little cracked vinyl affects its usefulness. Spray some water repellent on it and move on.

2000 miles without a problem
We bought this for our trip to Key West. It rained part of the way down and most of the way back to South Carolina and we didn’t get a single drop of water inside the bag. The bag is HEAVY vinyl and has a velcro lip that folds down to completely cover the zipper; no water leaking in here.

I would definetly recommend you do a dry run before your trip to get the staps adjusted properly. We tried to attach it in a dark garage at 5am and did not have the best results. Once the straps are adjusted for your vehicle it goes on/off in a few minutes. We took it on/off at least a dozen times on our ten day trip.

The straps were very strong and snapped on easily. I do have two warnings: You MUST have cross bars to properly install this unit to your roof rack and the zipper must align PERFECTLY before you can zip it; very tight.

Dry as a bone!!
I was a little reluctant to buy this carrier because there were reviews that it wasn’t as water resistant as described. Well let me reassure everyone that this carrier is WATER TIGHT!!!! We came home from our vacation in a horrible rain storm . We were travelling for 6 hours in the pouring rain on major highways and when we got home EVERYTHING inside this carrier was BONE DRY!!!! Maybe the other people didn’t follow the direction on having the zipper side to the back and that’s why things got wet because we did not have one drop of water inside this carrier.

The only thing that I would have liked this carrier to be was a little bit bigger. But dosen’t everyone want BIGGER!…more info

Zipper broke
We used the bag for our 180 mile trip over Christmas. Temperatures were below freezing the full duration of the trip. The first time I tried to open the bag at our destination one of the zipper pull tabs broke, and the last remaining pull broke while trying to reclose the bag. Even after I was as carefull as possible to align the zippers and use minimal force to close the zipper, the bag was simply too stiff to allow the zipper to properly close. The bag didn’t even make it through one trip. Very disappointing and frustrating. I do not recommend this bag to anyone….more info
