“Bad taste” I used the Brita filter once on a trial basis for about 6 months. Had been using Kenmore’s PUR then regular filter with no complaints. The Brita left the water tasting noticeably bad during the entire 6 months. I thought it was just me, but my wife said the taste was ‘off’ too. Went back to the Kenmore and it was like night and day – water tasted great.

Great Alternative ![]() I was very to happy to find that Britta made this alternative to the more expensive filters made by Whirlpool. It’s working well and I will continue to buy the Britta filters. … Excellet Filter! Now, with Brita, the water is Clean, Crisp and Tasteless, just how it should be! I would buy this again!… Tasted odd at first, now it’s fine The Whirlpool ones had tasted funny and included a few particles at first; I followed the directions and ran a gallon or two through it right after install to cut down on it. The longest it lasted was usually a couple weeks. But it lasted a few months with this Brita one. My wife drinks water with almost every meal, and she refused to drink it until it had been in use for almost three months, whereas she couldn’t tell the difference after a week or two with the Whirlpool filters. It should be noted that the water tastes great now, so I gave it three stars. Don’t know if I got a bad unit or what, but I’ll be going back to the Whirlpool OEM filters the next time the yellow light comes on…. Good report |
